About the story - There are many things that make Happy the happiest. She likes playing ball, going to the beach and dress-ups with her big sister. But as far as her big sister is concerned, there is one thing that makes her the happiest.

This is a story of sibling love and a little sister who, like the unicorns which appear throughout the book, is ordinary and extraordinary in equal measure. 

This is a wonderful book, one to read with children to create acceptance and awareness around disabilities, more specifically Down Syndrome. The story shows a big sister enjoying all activites children enjoy, each page you can see delight in the siblings interactions doing everyday activities. Children listening and reading the story can relate to the activites as ones they enjoy doing too, gaining 'text to self' connections. The ending of the story provides encouragement for discussion around people living with a disability. 

About the author

Vicki Hill resides in Melbourne, Australia with her large, cuddly companion, Bob the wonder-cat and her family who live close by. She has a Masters in Arts majoring in Professional Writing and enjoys, amongst other things, driving her classic sportscar. After retiring from a long career in health and community care, she uses her passion for story telling to create heart-warming Children's Picture Books.

As a sibling of a little sister who lived with Down Syndrome, her hope for the book is that it will increase awareness, acceptance and inclusion of people living with Down Syndrome.
